Please refer to the installation instructions, and installation key provided by your Test Publisher.
CQuest Test has been designed with you, the test-taker, in mind. When you first start the program, a Welcome screen will come up. Click on Take or Review Tests. After filling in the required information on the Select a Test screen, and then clicking on the Start Test button, the first question will come onto your screen. In all likelihood, you will know intuitively how to mark your answer and also how to navigate from question to question.
If you feel comfortable jumping right in, scan Chapter 2: Quickstart. It will give you bare bones instructions for both taking a test and reviewing a test.
If you would like to get more in-depth instructions on test taking, test reviewing, and also learn about different options that may or may not be on your test, start with Chapter 3, Getting Started.
Good luck on your test.
CQuest Test is interactive software for providing testing, training, or surveying at the computer. Four question types are available. Number of Attempts: If, for example, you want the correct answer displayed after two wrong attempts, enter 2 in this box (or 3 for 3 wrong attempts, etc.).

If the student selects the Hint button, the contents of the Notes field will be shown. The Hint button is displayed only if the Notes field for a question contains text. The information will also be shown on Test Reviews.
Do Not Display Score: When conducting surveys (or perhaps some tests), you will want to keep the score from being displayed to the survey-taker. Click on the checkbox "Do Not Display Score Upon Completion of Test" to prevent the score from showing.

For example, if 20 is the specified number with a file of 100 questions, 20 questions will be randomly selected from the file. The randomization routine will not look at test names. Enter a name for the randomized test.
Randomly Select Questions from Table Below: You may select from one or many tests. Select the number of questions to be drawn from tests (sections) by double clicking in the cell labeled Q#. Enter a name for the randomized test.
Enter Name to Use For New Random Test: For the last two options above, you may designate the name of the test to be generated. If no name is specified, the test name that is shown in the test reports is "Randomly Generated from File" or "Randomly Generated from Each Test". You may want to specify new names before each testing period.
Do Not Use Any Randomization Options: Select this to remove previous options.

questions types may be included in the test.
|
Question Types · True/False (Yes/No) · Multiple Choice · Check all that Apply ·
Short Answer or Essay ·
Informational Only |
Read each
question carefully to be sure you understand the question type. They should
be self-explanatory. The Short Answer or Essay question will
ask you to type a word, several words, or a paragraph(s) (essay) to answer.
Read the question carefully to be sure you understand what is required. The Informational Only question is not
really a question. The Test Administrator may use this “question” to give you
information regarding a group of questions. |
You may answer the questions in any order you wish. You may also travel through all the questions to preview them before actually beginning the test. At the bottom of each question screen you will see the buttons you use to travel through the questions.
If, in the small window between the buttons, it says “Rec# 1 of 4,” this indicates that the first question, out of a total of four, is now on the screen.

If you want to change your answer, just click in the desired radio button, or change your short answer question. The old answer or marked radio button will clear.
If you want to change the font size showing on the screen, click the black down arrow. A drop down list will appear showing the different available font sizes.

After clicking on the point size you want, the font size selection list will disappear and return you to the question screen.
If you click on the Finish Test button before you have viewed any questions, you will receive a dialogue box indicating as such. When you press OK, the program will shut down. There is no way to change your mind. Once you hit the Finish Test button, you will have to leave the program. To get back to the test you will need to start the program again. If you view the questions without answering, the test will be graded and marked as zero.

![]()
After clicking the Finish Test button, a message box will pop on the screen giving you one last chance to return to the test. Click No to return to the test. Otherwise, click Yes.

If you pressed No, you will return to the test and may then make any changes you wish. When you are finished, once again click the Finish Test button
If you pressed Yes, your test score will come on the screen in a message box. After making note of your score, click OK.

When you see the Score window after finishing your test, the Total Number of Graded Questions may not equal the number of screens (or number of questions) you saw while taking your test. This indicates that one or more “questions” were the Informational Only-type. This “question” is not tallied when grading the test.
A message box will now come up on the screen indicating that your answers have been recorded and the test is now complete. Click OK.

You will return to the Select a Test screen. At this point, you have four options:
· Take another test.
· Return to the test you just completed.
· Review the test you just completed.
· Exit the Test program.
The Allow test review option must be set for test reviews to take place. Refer to Section 2 for instructions on Setting Test Options.
From the Select a Test screen, click Review Test. If the test cannot be reviewed, you will see a dialogue box saying “The file has not been authorized for test reviews.”. Click OK to close.

If Test Review is authorized and you have just finished a test but have not exited the program, you will be at the Select a Test screen. The test file should already be open and the test name selected. Also, you should already have your ID and Password entered correctly.
If you have already exited the program and now wish to go back in and review a test, open C-Quest Test. See Quick Start (5) and follow steps 1 through 7. Be sure the test file is open and the test selected.
Click
the Review Test button.
